Hal Lotterman (1920 - 1995) was born in Chicago. He received his BFA from the University of Illinois in 1945 and MFA from the University of Iowa in 1946. He taught art at the University of Wisconsin from 1963 to 1987. He was included in many art shows, and he won awards in drawing in1958 and painting in 1951 and 1957. Lotterman was known for both abstract and figurative painting. In 1974, Lotterman’s multiple exposure nude photography was shown at the Elvehjem Art Center in Madison, Wisconsin.
